Woodworking beginner? Where to start.

i want to start with woodworking (Hobbie) i don’t know much about it but i am very handy ill like some help in what to buy first and what is the best project to start with for me?
Depends on what kind of woodworking you want to do. If you want to carve things like animals, or faces start out using a bar of soap or the core of a golf ball. They are hard to get into. but fairly soft to carve. Its also fun carving things out of fruit pits. Like peaces and cherries.
